Connect the Classroom is the Department for Education’s programme to upgrade wifi access points and network switches in schools that fall below the national wireless connectivity standards. £325 million in funding is available for 2025 to 2030, following £215 million invested between 2021 and 2025. Eligible schools can get their network upgraded, but they still need to procure and manage their own supplier.

The DfE provides the funding. Your school is responsible for procuring and appointing a supplier to carry out the improvement work, and that work has to meet DfE specifications.
